Bethel, Maine is located in the Western MaineMountains and is home to one of Maine's finest ski areas, Sunday River Ski Resort. The area is dotted withMt.ainous areas, rivers, valleys, and farmland. The Androscoggin, Bear and Sunday Rivers flow through the area and afford visitors a wide variety of activities for all seasons of the year. The Bethel area is proud of its heritage and has a very active historical society, which sponsor activities all year long. Bethel is also home of Gould Academy, a private prep school. Golf is available for the golf enthusiast as well as canoeing, hiking, biking during the summer and fall. The ever-popular winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, cross-country, skiing, snowmobiling etc. are also in abundance. There are lodging choices available for every taste and budget, including hotels, motels, b&b's, inns, campgrounds, cabins, condos, etc.
