Included among the many unusual and unique selections you will find at the Mountain Side Country Crafts Shop is a Maine favorite, the "Daybreak Moose" which is made here in Maine by Maine craftsmen. This popular moose is unfinished and the grain of the wood can be accented by simply rubbing it with mineral oil.
The Maine "Daybreak Moose" has been featured on a variety of television shows including "World's Funniest Videos, Rosie O'Donnel, PBS Auctions around the Country, QVC and Shopping Channels, and national newscasts. Nancy Stowell Wooden Ornaments Featured in the quaint, country atmosphere of the Mountain Side Country Crafts is a wide selection of wooden ornaments crafted by Nancy Stowell of Wilton, Maine.
The Small Creatures collection includes many of the native birds and wildlife of Maine. There is also a large collection of ornaments featuring many popular winter sports. These charming hand-painted ornaments feature adorable kids, santas, angels, and elves engaging in cross-country and downhill skiing, skating, snowboarding, and tobogganing. There is even a bride and groom on skis. Something for everyone.
Skiing Moose	The New Stuff & Old Favorites collection has a colorful, whimsical group of ornaments some of which include a Santa with a loon, Angel with French Horn, Snowman with Birds, Bride & Groom, Angel Riding a Red Comet, Santa Putter, and a St. Lucia's Day Celebrant. The Wildlife Olympics group is a creative look at Maine winter sports featuring some of our favorite winter animals. Here you can find your favorite moose, bunny, and penguin on skis. The collection includes some festive additions which include an Angel Ski Jumper, Hockey Player, Free-Style Santa, Cross-Country Santa, and a Woodland Angel In Prayer.
Each of these ornaments is carefully hand-painted on both sides and signed by Nancy Stowell. Customers may special order an ornament by specifying the boy or girl's hairstyle and hair color as well as the color of the outfit.

One of the very popular displays at Mountain Side Country Crafts is the collection of beautiful pottery made by Unity Pond Pottery of Unity, Maine.
This collection includes a mini vase, oil lamp, candlesticks, scented candle cup, potpourri simmerer/lantern, coffee mug, cereal/soup bowl, soap/candy dish, garlic/potpourri jar, spoon jar/vase, spice jar, small urn, small cup, and wall pouch. You can select from four different glazes, Fred's glaze, white glaze, peacock glaze, and persimmon's glaze.	Unity Pond Pottery

Mountain Side Country Crafts also carries a wide selection of other Maine products which include jams, jellies, maple syrup and maple drops. You can also find miniatures, novelty items, postcards, magnets, and an assortment of decorated handcarved wood items.
Assorted Decorated Handcarved Wood Items	The shop also carries the Natural Healing Pillow which is made here in Bethel, Maine and is used to soothe those aching muscles by providing a soothing, moist heat. There are sap buckets, as well as oil and gas cans, which have been handpainted and decorated by local artists as well as cured muskrat stretching boards, which have also been painted.
The Mountain Side Country Craft Shop is like stepping back into time. You will find an 1872 Chickering Square Grand Piano on display as well as a variety of other antiques which are used for decorative purposes and help to create a "homey" atmosphere.
